How it works
Deciding to start therapy takes courage and looking for a therapist can be daunting. I’ve outlined below the process you can expect from getting in touch to our first session.
Arrange a consultation
You can contact me through my contact form, by emailing or phoning 07735 887 704. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible to answer your questions and arrange a mutually convenient time for our initial consultation.
In this initial consultation we'll talk about what brings you to therapy and explore your hopes and expectations. It will be a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and whether I am the right counsellor for you, and for me to answer any questions or concerns you may have. It will be a shorter session than usual (40 minutes instead of 50) and cost £45.
If I feel I am not able to support you in the best way possible, I will always endeavour to refer you to another therapist or service that might be better placed to do so.
Book a session
If you feel I would be a good fit for you, we can then set up a regular appointment. Sessions take place on the same day, at the same time, every week. They last for 50 minutes and cost £55.
This first session will give you space to talk further about the issue(s) you want to explore in therapy. I value your autonomy and expertise in yourself, and as part of this session will talk with you about your preferences for how we work together. There isn’t a right or wrong and it’s absolutely okay if you’re unsure, and if your preferences change during therapy. Building a collaborative therapeutic relationship is essential from the start and people find different things useful, so this is a way for me to meet you where you’re at.
Price and payment
Initial consultation: £45 Ongoing sessions: £55
Payment must be made by bank transfer at least 48 hours in advance of the session.
I am able to offer cheaper rates to a limited number of clients. Please enquire about the availability of these slots if the regular fee is unaffordable for you.
