Online Group Counselling
What is group counselling / therapy?
Group therapy provides a space to talk about and reflect on what’s going on for you, to explore how you relate to yourself and others, increase self awareness and gain insight from peers. In a world that can feel isolating and unsupportive, especially for folks with marginalised identities and those who feel like outsiders, group therapy can offer a place to connect and be in community with others.
In particular, having a space that is trans-affirming in what’s a politically and socially scary time, feels important.
Is group counselling / therapy right for me?
If you want to explore your experiences and the issues you’re going through alongside others, want to try a different way of learning about yourself, or sometimes struggle with feeling misunderstood or unseen, group therapy might be a good fit for you.
The nature of being in a group means that sometimes other participants will bring things up that are triggering for you. I encourage participants to consider whether they feel ready for an environment where this might happen.
If you’re unsure whether group therapy is right for you, this can be discussed in the initial consultation.
