Relationship Counselling for Individuals
I offer one to one relationship counselling in London and online for relationship difficulties with partners, family and friends.
Relationships can be hard work. How to communicate about our needs, bring up difficult conversations, talk about our feelings, or work through conflict, are things we don’t often get taught or have modeled to us. Our family dynamics growing up and life experiences from childhood through to adulthood, will influence our approach to these things, how we feel about ourselves, interact with others, and handle disagreements, all of which will in turn impact the relationships we have.
Whether it’s difficulties with an intimate partner or partners, a family member or friendship, relationship counselling might be helpful.
Some common relationship issues people come to counselling for are:
Repeating relationship patterns
Understanding past relationships
Navigating non-monogamy, polyamory or other alternative relationship styles
Processing a relationship break up
Managing conflict
Trust issues
Jealousy
Communication problems
Feeling bored or stuck
LGBTQ relationship issues
Navigating relationship issues with ADHD
Family relationships and friendships
Relationship coaching
We’ll start by exploring your relationship history and childhood and family experience, and take it from there based on what you want to get from sessions. Therapy can offer a space to talk about situations, emotions and patterns to give you a deeper understanding of where they might come from, how they impact you and your relationship(s), how you feel about them and if / how you want to change them. Coaching can provide a space to explore the ‘how tos’, like how to have difficult conversations or how to identify and express your needs. My approach offers a mixture of the two.
